5 Creative Ways to Use Photos in Your Home

Here are 5 creative ways to use photos in your home. Taking pictures is the perfect way to preserve memories. We all love looking back at old photo albums and seeing how we looked years ago or remembering a special time in our lives. When taking photos, there are certain memories or photographs that capture something amazing and we want to highlight these pictures by displaying them in our home. But how should such photos be displayed? Getting creative with your displays will allow you to enjoy these precious memories while giving you customizable designs within your home.

Here are just 5 ways you can display your cherished photographs.

  1. Traditional Frames

The simplest way to display your photos is with traditional frames. This is an inexpensive way to decorate your home with memories. Use larger frames to hang professional prints while smaller photos can be displayed in simple 5×7 or 4×6 frames.

The best part about frames? They can be placed anywhere, from nightstands and side tables, to fireplace mantels or decorative shelving, even hung on the wall, the possibilities are endless. Not to mention the variety of color and style that frames offer. Choose one color or wood tone for the frames to have cohesive decor throughout your home. Or take a more unique approach and mix and match your styles.

  1. Canvas Prints

A lovely way to display special photos is with canvas prints. A photograph can be transformed into a work of art with the help of a canvas. Get creative and see what you can come up with based off of your favorite photos. Canvas prints are easy to customize and come in many different sizes, textures, and finishes. Big canvas prints are the perfect focal point to place above a bed or fireplace.

Multi-Panel canvas prints are a unique way to display a photo of your favorite place, such as mountains or the downtown skyscrapers of the city you’re from. Not all photos can be used this way, but for a more artsy approach, this could be the idea for you.

  1. Display with Wood

Rustic decor is all the rage right now. With photographs, you can easily use a touch of wood to display your favorite pictures. Create new frames with real wood pieces found on your property or create a wall display by using a shiplap wall and rustic style frames for hanging. You can also use a bigger chunk of wood, along with a metal clip to hang pictures in a more unique way. Using wood creates a homey feel and is a great way to display your favorite pictures.

  1. Metal Prints

For a more modern approach to your photo displays, opt for metal prints. Your favorite pictures can be transformed into a modern art piece by creating metal prints. Such prints come in all shapes and sizes with a metallic finish. The look of these prints are something to behold. They are unique in nature and don’t require a frame to go around them.

  1. Gallery Wall

If you have multiple photographs you wish to display, a gallery wall might be a better option for you. Find a blank wall in your home that is large enough for this type of project and get to work. You can use the same color frames to hang various sized photos for a cohesive look or get a little funky and use brightly colored frames to create a wall of memories.

Get creative and really allow your personality to show through the gallery wall display. Mix in some signs with your favorite sayings or other shapes and objects along with your photos for a one of a kind gallery wall. Gallery walls give you the most freedom in creating a masterpiece your family and friends will enjoy.
