If you could somehow internalized the very best of cultural travel books on the market, it would only take you 10% of the way to understanding other countries when compared to Charlotte Bell’s book. She provides a way to develop a deeper appreciation of our great neighborhood to the south, Mexico. She shows us how to learn to see, hear, and open our hearts so we can receive their many gifts. While reading, I noticed tears on my cheeks from being deeply moved as I entered into their world. * I received your book today. I looked at all the pictures first (as I do with all books) and can’t wait to read every word and study each picture, I remember meeting almost all of the people of the village when my husband and I were there. The wool on the sheet was very familiar! It is interesting that I remember meeting them , their names and faces. Your photography is beautifully expressive of their village life in their hooked pieces. The color in extraordinarily replicated. I have pieces by Sara Tovar and Oralia Crisantos and treasure them as wonderful memories of Mexico. Thank you so much for your idea to create a book and seeing it to publication. *I have to write you to tell you how much I like it. I’m only on page 6, where you have to look at the picture before reading the text, and the text is all about the donkey and kids you’ve been looking at. And you tell about the donkey. Does anybody else know what it’s like to be around a sweet non-smelly soft loving donkey? Not a whole lot of people.
